After vowel plus r र् h ह्, all consonants except h ह् optionally double.

By "doubling" it is meant that they last longer (not that the tongue movement is done twice).

So in Artas आर्तस्, we may, if we like, pause slightly when the tongue at the "t त्" point, touching the teeth for a time bit longer than usual.

This can be written like this:

Artas आर्तस् → Arttas आर्त्तस्

**kimartham किमर्थम् → kimarttham किमर्त्थम्

but as this stopping is always optional, maybe it is better to not write it at all. It makes google searches confusing, because looking for kimarttham will not find kimartthan.
