Spell it however you like. /pANini tells us that the c is padafinal, but no /pANini rule ever said that you can write spaces only after padafinal letters.

Just make sure to NOT read aloud a pause where the space is. When making a pause between the two words, this rule does not work, because it is under < saMhitAyAm, so we must say

with no cch च्छ्.
