These affixes form the Vedic infinitives, like sUtave सूतवे —

tan te garbhaM havAmahe dazame mAsi sUtave|
तं ते गर्भं हवामहे दशमे मासि सूतवे।
"We pour it into your womb, for you to bear after nine months." (Rgveda ऋग्वेद 10.184.3)
