Bases that can be any gender are marked as mfn in dictionaries:

zuci- शुचिॱ mfn "clean"

These bases are considered adjectives by western grammarians, so they appear marked as "adj." in some dictionaries.

Most Sanskrit / English dictionaries follow this convention:

hemakeza- mfn "blonde" ← adds /Ap when f, hemakezA हेमकेशा (only -a- nouns can add Ap आप्, and most do)

hemakeza- mf(I)n. "blonde" ← adds /GI when f, hemakezI हेमकेशी

zuci- mfn "clean" ← adds nothing when f, zuciH kumArI शुचिः कुमारी

**sumanas- सुमनस् mf "wellwisher" ← adds nothing when f sumanAH kumArI सुमनाः कुमारी

guru- mf ← adds nothing when f sarasvatI guruH सरस्वती गुरुः

guru- mf(I). ← adds /GI when f sarasvatI gurvI सरस्वती गुर्वी
