Before vowel /sup, replace final U ऊ of a root with v व्, unless the root has a /saMyoga or the /aGga has one vowel.

Exception to <6 aciznudhAt....

Example. When joining khalapU- खलपूॱ mf "threshing-floor-cleaner", "sweeper" plus /au or /jas, khalapU- खलपूॱ (with three vowels) is the /aGga, and the root is pU पू (ends in U ऊ, no cluster).

So the U ऊ turns into v व्, not uv उव् as usual:

khalapU- खलपूॱ + au औ → khalapvau खलप्वौ "2 sweepers"
khalapU- खलपूॱ + jas जस् / zas शस्→ khalapvaH खलप्वः "3+ sweepers"

But from the aGga kaTaprU- कटप्रूॱ, with cluster root prU प्रू —

kaTapruvaH कटप्रुवः "gamblers"
