In the candravasu page about sUtra tiptasjhisipth..., we can see a list of the form that the eighteen /tiG take when they replace the nine tenses. I copied from there the eighteen hard liG replacements —

And the eighteen soft liG replacements —

Why did candravasu put those lists there?

There is a basic idea. If you know the lists you don't need the /pANini rules, and if you know the /pANini rules you don't need the lists. Candravasu put the lists in there to take advantage of Western ways fof teaching Latin. Not a bad idea if you ask me.
