dadAti pAdazaH ददाति पादशः "gives a pAda to each" (the pAda पाद is a coin)

But if the option is not taken:

dvau dvau modakau dadAti द्वौ द्वौ मोदकौ ददाति "gives two sweetmeats to each"

Can't add /zas' to singular non-coins:

ghaTaG ghatan dadAti घटं घतं ददाति "gives a pot to each"

nor to nonsingular coins:
