Vedic rule.

(In the veda, sometimes) /su, /luk, lengthening of the previous, A आ, At आत्, /ze, yA या, DA डा, DyA ड्या, yAc याच् and Al आल् replace the /sup.

Or in less words —

The vedas sometimes use weird /sup. So keep calm and carry on.

This sUtra is just a list of monster /sup found in the vedas.

Examples. Sometimes —

/su replaces /jas — anRkSarA:: Rjavas santi panthAH अनृक्षरा‌ ऋजवः सन्ति पन्थाः, where **panthAs पन्थास् has /su instead of /jas

/luk replaces /Gi — havir dhAne yat sunvanti हविर्धाने यत्सुन्वन्ति, where yat यत् means "in which", so it has clearly /luk instead of /Gi

lengthening replaces /TA — matI मती for matyA मत्या

A आ replaces /W — ubhA उभा for ubhau उभौ

At आत् replaces /zas — tAd ताद् for tAn तान्

/ze replaces /jas — yuSme युष्मे for **yUyam यूयम्, asme अस्मे for **vayam वयम् (see ze)
