The rest take the sixth.
The previous taught the use of different cases to express different kinds of relationship of a noun to a verb root.
But when we express the relationship of a noun to a noun, we use the sixth —
caitrasya gauH चैत्रस्य गौः "Caitra has a cow", "caitra चैत्र's cow".
unless the relationship is "being there" —
udyAne sarpaH उद्याने सर्पः "there is a snake in the garden"
or "bring as a result" —
krodho nAzAya क्रोधो नाशाय "anger leads to destruction"
The sixth can also express a relationship of a noun to a verb that is not one of the relationships described by previous sUtras. /varadarAja shows these examples —
sarpiSo janIte सर्पिषो जनीते "knows of ghee"
mAtus smarati मातुः स्मरति "reminisces of his / her mother"
upaskuruta:: edhodakasya उपस्कुरुत एधोदकस्य "prepares of fuel and water (for the sacrifice)"
bhaje zambhoz caraNayoH भजे शम्भोश्चरणयोः "I serve of the feet of Shiva"
You can still say sarpir janIte सर्पिर्जनीते, mAtaraM smarati मातरं स्मरति, bhaje zambhoz caraNau भजे शम्भोश्चरणौ and so on. Understand this sUtra to be a wildcard, meaning "sometimes using the sixth is fine, but don't overdo it".
