05011006e teja AdAsyase pazyan balavAMz ca bhaviSyasi thou shalt absorb his power and (thereby) wax strong.
05011007a dharmamM puraskRtya sadA sarvalokAdhipo bhava Always placing virtue before (all other things), be thou the ruler of the worlds.
05011007c brahmarSIMz cApi devAMz ca gopAyasva triviSTape Protect also the Brahmarsis (brAhmaNa saints) and the gods in heaven.'
05011008a sudurlabhaM varaM labdhvA prApya rAjyanM triviSTape Then, O lord of monarchs, nahuSa was crowned king in heaven. And placing virtue before (everything else), he became the ruler of all the worlds.
05011008c dharmAtmA satatamM bhUtvA kAmAtmA samapadyata And though always of a virtuous disposition, yet when he obtained that precious boon and the kingdom of heaven, nahuSa assumed a sensual turn of mind.

05011010c nahuSo devarAjasH san krIDan bahuvidhanM tadA nahuSa, being the king of the gods, took to enjoyments of various kinds,
05011011a zRNvan divyA bahuvidhAH kathAH zrutimanoharAH listening to various divine narratives that captivated both the ear and the heart,
05011011c vAditrANi ca sarvANi gItaJM ca madhurasvaram and to the play of musical instruments of different sorts, and to sweet vocal strains.
05011012a vizvAvasur nAradaz ca gandharvApsarasAGM gaNAH And vizvavasu and Narada and bevies of celestial nymphs and bands of gandharvas
05011012c RtavaSH SaT ca devendramM mUrtimanta upasthitAH and the six seasons in living shapes, attended upon the king of the gods.
05011012e mArutasH surabhir vAti manojJasH sukhazItalaH And a fragrant breeze, refreshingly cool, blew round him.

05011018c uktavAn asi mAmM pUrvam RtAnM tAGM kuru vai giram All this about me you have said before. Let your words be made true.
05011019a noktapUrvaJM ca bhagavan mRSA te kiJM cid Izvara O possessor of great powers, O lord, you never spoke words that were vain.
05011019c tasmAd etad bhavet satyanM tvayoktanM dvijasattama Therefore, O best of brAhmaNas, this that you have said ought to be true.'
05011020a bRhaspatir athovAca indrANImM bhayamohitAm Then bRhaspati said to the queen of indra who was beside herself through fear,
05011020c yad uktAsi mayA devi satyanM tad bhavitA dhruvam 'What thou hast been told by me will come to be true, be sure, O goddess.
05011021a drakSyase devarAjAnam indraM zIghram ihAgatam Thou shalt see indra, the lord of the gods, who will soon come back here.
05011021c na bhetavyaJM ca nahuSAt satyam etad bravImi te I tell thee truly, thou hast no fear from nahuSa;
05011021e samAnayiSye zakreNa nacirAd bhavatIm aham I shall soon unite thee with indra.'
