06021004c kalpitazH zAstradRSTena vidhinA bhUritejasA Immovable and impenetrable is this array that hath been designed, according to the rules laid down in the scriptures, by that grinder of foes, bhISma, of transcendent glory.
06021005a te vayaM saMzayamM prAptAsH sasainyAzH zatrukarzana With our troops we have become doubtful (of success), O grinder of foes.
06021005c katham asmAn mahAvyUhAd udyAnanM no bhaviSyati How, indeed, will victory be ours in the face of this mighty array?'

06021011c yudhyadhvam anahaGMkArA yato dharmas tato jayaH fight without arrogance, for victory is there where righteousness is.
06021012a evaM rAjan vijAnIhi dhruvo 'smAkaM raNe jayaH --For this know, O king, that to us victory is certain in (this) battle.
06021012c yathA me nAradaH prAha yataH kRSNas tato jayaH Indeed, as Narada said,--There is victory where kRSNa is.
06021013a guNabhUto jayaH kRSNe pRSThato 'nveti mAdhavam --Victory is inherent to kRSNa. Indeed, it followeth Madhava.
06021013c anyathA vijayaz cAsya sanMnatiz cAparo guNaH And as victory is one of its attributes, so humility is his another attribute.
06021014a anantatejA govindazH zatrupUgeSu nirvyathaH Govinda is possessed of energy that is infinite. Even in the midst of immeasurable foes he is without pain.
06021014c puruSasH sanAtanatamo yataH kRSNas tato jayaH He is the most eternal of male beings. And there victory is where kRSNa is.
06021015a purA hy eSa harir bhUtvA vaikuNTho 'kuNThasAyakaH Appearing as Hari in olden days, even he, indestructible and of weapons incapable of being baffled,
06021015c surAsurAn avasphUrjann abravIt ke jayantv iti said in a loud voice unto the Gods and the asuras, --Who amongst you would be victorious?
06021016a anu kRSNaJM jayemeti yair uktanM tatra tair jitam --Even the conquered who said.--With kRSNa in the front we will conquer.
06021016c tatprasAdAd dhi trailokyamM prAptaM zakrAdibhisH suraiH --And it was through Hari's grace that the three worlds were obtained by the gods headed by zakra.
