This rule works in all genders.

→ di दि + au औ + /su by this rule
→ dy द्य् + au औ + /su by ikoyaNaci

As the base ends in au औ, like in the cases of **naus नौस् and **gaus गौस्, no rule erases the /su when dyau- द्यौॱ is mf , not even when it is /sambuddhi —

he हे + div- दिव् + /sambuddhi → he dyauH हे द्यौः "heavens above!"

When dyau- द्यौॱ is neuter in a genderbender —

sudiv- सुदिव् n + /su
→ sudyau- सुद्यौॱ + /su by this rule
→ sudyau सुद्यौ by svamornapuMs...
→ sudy सुद्य् + u उ by hrasvonapuMs... and eca::igghrasv...
→ !**sudyu सुद्यु n "that has nice skies"

as in sudyu rAjyam सुद्यु राज्यम् "a country with nice skies".
