@noun endings after han

The root han हन् means "strike", "hit", "attack" or "kill". It is an /adAdi

/han + /laT /tip!**hanti हन्ति "kills"

It is called /hanti in some sUtras, such as hohanterJNinn....

The rootnoun /han- means "killer of" and only appears ifc. Compared with other stems in an अन्, like -rAjan-, /han stems are unusual because

(1) inhanpUSAry... sometimes prevents the lengthening before strong.

(2) hohanterJNinn... sometimes turns h ह् into gh घ्.

brahmahan- ब्रह्महन् + /Gibrahmaghni ब्रह्मघ्नि / brahmahaNi ब्रह्महणि

Why does the m म् in brahmahaNas ब्रह्महणस् brahmahaNi ब्रह्महणि get /Natvam, while the n न् in brahmaghnas ब्रह्मघ्नस् brahmaghni ब्रह्मघ्नि doesn't?
