Miscellaneous info about the pronoun nounbase /tad.
/tad- means "it, he, she, they". Sometimes "the", "this", "that".
In verse it is often used as a samasyApUraNa समस्यापूरण, I mean it can often be ignored, as in sa rAjA janamejayaH स राजा जनमेजयः.
The /tad- base keeps its d द् only —
when ibc (as in **tanmatis तन्मतिस्)
and when neuter before /su /am (as in tad ejati tan naijati tad dUre tad antike तदेजति तन्नैजति तद्दूरे तदन्तिके).
Elsewhere, it becomes **ta- तॱ by tyadAdInAmaH.
/tad- is never followed by /sambuddhi.
The feminine gets /Ap by ajAdyataSTAp, like all a अ-pronouns. See **tAm ताम्.
Before /su, **ta- तॱ becomes sa- सॱ by tadossassAv....
The final s स् of sas सस् disappears before consonants by etattadoss....
