A /Tit is whatever carries a T ट् as an /it.
Many /Tit are Titaugments that attach at the beginning, by rule AdyantauTak.... Examples:
nuT — a n न् added before /Am by rules hrasvanadyAp... &c,
aT — an a अ added before verb roots by luGlaGlRGkSvaD...,
suT — a s स् attached before /Am by Amisarvan....
However, in a /taddhita that is not an augment, such as /Tac, a /Tit shows that the feminine gets /GI (by TiDDhANaJdvay...).
