श्लाघॱह्नुङ्स्थाॱशपां ज्ञीप्स्यमानः ONPANINI 14034

With zlAgh श्लाघ् "praise", hnu ह्नु "take away", sthA स्था "stand", zap शप् "curse", the person that is wished to be informed or persuaded is called /sampradAna.

The root **jJIpsa ज्ञीप्स (jJIpsayati ज्ञीप्सयति) means "wants to inform or persuade someone". So, adding /yak and /zAnac and /su, we get jJIpsyamAnaH ज्ञीप्स्यमानः, "the someone one wants to inform or persuade". A word so uncommon that @mmw takes the trouble to say he foud it in this sUtra.

zlAgha hnuG sthA zapa ityeteSAm jJIpsyamAno yo 'rthah श्लाघ ह्नुङ्स्था शप इत्येतेषाम्ज्ञीप्स्यमानो यो ऽर्थह्, tat kArakaM sampradAnasaJjJam bhavati तत्कारकं सम्प्रदानसंज्ञं भवति. jJIpsyamAnaH jJapayitum iSyamaNaH ज्ञीप्स्यमानः ज्ञपयितुमिष्यमणः, bodhyitum abhipretaH बोध्यितुमभिप्रेतः. devadattAya zlAghate देवदत्ताय श्लाघते. devadattaM zlAghamAnastAm zlAghAn tam eva jJapayitum icchati ityarthaH देवदत्तं श्लाघमानस्ताम्श्लाघां तमेव ज्ञपयितुमिच्छति इत्यर्थः. evam devadattAya hnute एवम्देवदत्ताय ह्नुते. yajJadattAya hnute यज्ञदत्ताय ह्नुते. devadattAya tiSThate देवदत्ताय तिष्ठते. yajJadattAya tiSThate यज्ञदत्ताय तिष्ठते. devadattAya zapate देवदत्ताय शपते. yajJadattAya zapate यज्ञदत्ताय शपते. jJIpsyamAnaH iti kim ज्ञीप्स्यमानः इति किम्? deadattAya zlAghate pathi देअदत्ताय श्लाघते पथि.
