When compounding paJcan- पञ्चन् and goNI- गोणीॱ in the sense of 'purchased for', sUtra adhyardhapUrv... /luk-elides the /taddhita that gives that sense. Ordinarily, < luktaddhital... would then delete the /GI, where it not for this exception —
