deriv LSK ETT STT aSTA ALPH OLDHOMEPAGE NEWHOMEPAGE
In most late styles of Sanskrit, /kta and /ktavatu words are the most common way to make past sentences —
tayA kumbhaH kRtaH तया कुम्भः कृतः "she made a pot"
sA kumbhaG kRtavatI सा कुम्भं कृतवती "she made a pot"
to the point that all three of the past tenses —
kumbham akArSIt कुम्भमकार्षीत् "she made a pot", with /luG
kumbham akarot कुम्भमकरोत् "she made a pot", with /laG
kumbhaJ cakAra कुम्भं चकार "she made a pot", with /liT
sound archaic.
