A /mit goes after the last vowel.
Exception to parazca.
These /mit are added right after the last vowel of whatever they are added to. They are also called infixes, or /mit augments, or /midAgama.
Examples with the mitaugment "num" —
manas- मनस् + /num + /zi → manansi मनन्सि by this rule (as in **manAMsi मनांसि)
**hanumat- हनुमत् + /num → hanumant- हनुमन्त् by ugidacAMs... (as in **hanumantam हनुमन्तम्)
Also when rudh रुध् gets "znam" augment by rudhAdibhyazzn..., the na न goes after the u उ —
rudh रुध् + /znam
→ **runadh- रुनध्
And the "Am" mentioned in caturanaD... is just an infix A आ, not an /Am or anything —
catur चतुर् + /zi
→ catur- चतुर् + "Am" + /zi by caturanaD...
→ catuAr- चतुआर् + /zi by this rule
→ catvAr- चत्वार् +/zi by ikoyaNaci
→ **catvAri चत्वारि
Works with vowel-enders too:
phala- फलॱ + /su
→ phala फल + /zi
→ phala फल + /num + /zi by napuMsakasy...
→ phalan- फलन् + /zi
→ **phalAni फलानि
