Replace non-padafinal s स् dh ध् with S ष् Dh ढ्.
/adhikAra. The following rules, up to the end of the chapter, replace s स् with S ष्, or dh ध् with Dh ढ्, but not when they are padafinal.
Most of those rules replace s स् with S ष्. iNaSSIdhvaMl... replaces dh ध् with Dh ढ्.
So, when sUtra iNkoH >> says "after /iN and /ku", this means that after i इ, s स् turns into S ष् —
**agni- अग्निॱ + /sup' → **agniSu अग्निषु
Why "unless padafinal" ?
padafinal s स् is unaffected —
**agni- अग्निॱ + /su → !**agnis अग्निस्
What's that /mUrdhanya word in the sUtra?
It means retroflex.
