इणः षीध्वंॱलुङ्लिटां धो ऽङ्गात् ONPANINI 83078

(Replace with Dh ढ्) the dh ध् of SIdhvam षीध्वम्, and of /luG and /liT, after a stem ending in /iN.

The SIdhvam षीध्वम् in the sUtra means any **sIdhvam सीध्वम् that has been affected by /Satvam after any /ik.

As the /iN word in this sUtra stops the inheritance of koH कोः, the /ku-enders won't be affected —

Why do we say "stem"?

To make sure this sUtra doesn't trigger when a stem ending in S ष् meets **Idhvam ईध्वम्. So, from viSL विष्ऌ (vyAptau व्याप्तौ) of the /juhotyAdi —

/pari + viSL विष्ऌ + hard /liG /dhvam
→ /pari + viS विष् + **Idhvam ईध्वम्
→ /pari + vi वि + viS विष् + Idhvam ईध्वम् by zlau
→ /pari + ve वे + viS विष् + Idhvam ईध्वम् by nijAntrayAN...
→ pariveviS परिवेविष् + Idhvam ईध्वम्

Here the presence of SIdhvam षीध्वम् did not trigger iNaSSI इणःषी because the i इ is not the final /ik of the /aGga — the /aGga is pariveviS परिवेविष्.

How come this sUtra replaces dh ध् with Dh ढ्, when we are after a lot of sUtras that replace things with S ष्?

Because we are in the shadow of apadAntasy....
