Shorten /go- and feminine affixes when they are ifc and /upasarjana.
By atyAdayaHkr... (1015), we may form a compound /nis + kauzAmbI- कौशाम्बीॱ meaning "guy that departed from kauzaAmbI कौशआम्बी", from the sentence niSkrAntaH kauzAmbyAH निष्क्रान्तः कौशाम्ब्याः "he departed from Kaushaambee". In this compound, kauzAmbI- कौशाम्बीॱ is /upasarjana, and comes last. Therefore, its /GI shortens:
niSkrAntaH kauzAmbyAH निष्क्रान्तः कौशाम्ब्याः
→ /nis + kauzAmbI- कौशाम्बीॱ + /su by atyAdayaHkr... (1015)
→ /nis + kauzAmbi- कौशाम्बिॱ + /su by this rule
→ **niSkauzAmbis निष्कौशाम्बिस्
So also
citrA gAvo yasya चित्रा गावो यस्य "the guy who has brindled cows"
→ citra- चित्रॱ + /go- + /su
→ citragu- चित्रगुॱ + /su by this rule and eca::igghrasv...
→ !**citragus चित्रगुस् "Mr.-spotty-cows",
And —
atikrAntaH khaTvAm अतिक्रान्तः खट्वाम्
→ ati अति +khaTvA खट्वा "mat"
→ ati अति +khaTva- खट्वॱ by this rule
→ !**atikhaTvas अतिखट्वस् "homeless" (one who no longer has a bed).
However, in this case —
!**rAjakumArI राजकुमारी "princess"
the kumArI कुमारी here is not /upasarjana, but the main half, so there is no shortening.
And even if the last word is /upasarjana, only words formed with feminine affixes get shortened. So, zrI- श्रीॱ doesn't shrink —
ati अति + zrI- श्रीॱ + /su → atizrIH अतिश्रीः "extremely brilliant", "too shiny"
because zrI- श्रीॱ has no /GI, the I ई is part of the nounbase.
