The /parasmaipada (/liG endings) get acute /yAsuT and are /Git.

(See flat hard liG and flat soft liG.)

The T in "yAsuT" makes it a Titaugment, and the u is feop.

Both to the hard liG and the soft liG get yAs यास् by this rule. But the hard loses s स् by liGassalop..., and gets just yA या

**yAm याम् **yAva याव **yAma याम (See flat hard liG for the other six)

(that yA या will turn into iy इय् by atoyeyaH sometimes, making iyam इयम् iva इव ima इम...)

The s स् stays in the soft endings —

**yAsam यासम् **yAsva यास्व **yAsma यास्म (See flat soft liG for the other six endings)

What's the /Git for?

It prevents the gbH in

dviS द्विष् + hard /liG /tip → **dviSyAt द्विष्यात्

and the gbS in

dviS द्विष् + soft /liG /tip → **dviSyAt' द्विष्यात्ऽ

Wait, why does the rule bother to say that /liG substitutes are /Git? That's not necessary. Any replacement of any Git tense should be /Git anyway, by sthAnivadAd....

Short answer: because of an exception, the rule sthAnivadAd... does not apply to the /Git of Git tenses (it applies to the Tit tenses as usual).

Long answer: See page why Gicca.
