Use /liG or /loT to mean benediction.
We can mean benediction with the hard liG —
AyuSmAn vardheta आयुष्मान्वर्धेत "live long and prosper"
with the /loT —
AyuSmAn vardhatAm आयुष्मान्वर्धताम् "live long and prosper"
or with the soft liG —
AyuSmAn vardhiSISTa आयुष्मान्वर्धिषीष्ट "live long and prosper"
In practice you won't hear that bent soft liG outside the vedas, even though /pANini allows it, and the flat soft /liG is much seldomer than the hard liG.
Works with maledictions (curses) too. So with soft liG —
mama zatrur mRSISTa मम शत्रुर्मृषीष्ट "may my enemy die"
and with /loT —
mama zatrur mriyatAm मम शत्रुर्म्रियताम् "may my enemy die"
vRdh वृध् + soft /liG /ta
→ vRdh वृध् + **sISTa सीष्ट
→ vRdh वृध् + isIsta इसीस्त by ArdhadhAtuk...
→ vRdh वृध् + iSISta इषीष्त by /Satvam
→ vardh वर्ध् + iSISTa इषीष्ट by pugantalagh... and uraNraparaH
→ !**vardhiSISTa वर्धिषीष्ट "may he prosper"
Why is there no /guNa in the soft /liG flat, like **bhUyAt भूयात्?
Is there always /guNa in the soft /liG bent, like in **vardhiSISTa वर्धिषीष्ट?
No; sometimes it is debarred by liGsicAvAtm....
